0800 - 1700
Location:
California State Parks
Directions: 111 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814
Prerequisite:
Students must be full-time, commissioned peace officers,
reserve, or act under the umbrella of a public service
agency.
Course Description: This newly expanded 2-day course details the most under-trained and critically necessary skill you must have in public service; the ability to "tell what happened". This course is designed for everyone whose duties require a detailed account of events, identification of what lead you to reasonable suspicion or probable cause, and how to effectively convey in writing, and verbally, what actually occurred. Using practical report writing exercises and a moot court, students learn to effectively communicate in writing before providing verbal testimony. Don't just tell them it happened; tell them what happened, how it happened and why it happened. This course challenges the novice and advanced alike. Don't miss your opportunity!
Who Should Attend: Patrol Officers, Jail/Prison Officers, Detectives, Agents, Arson Investigators,
Instructors: Your instructor, Nick Ramos, a retired Sergeant and K-9 handler from the New Mexico State Police, brings a wealth of experience gained from over 25 years in law enforcement.
