Prerequisite: Students must be full-time, commissioned peace officers, reserve, or act under the umbrella of a law enforcement agency.

Course Description: Allow us to expand your knowledge of the current Mexican DTO's and their associations with U.S. Gangs throughout the country. Students will also be exposed to the DTO's cultural aspects to explain certain events and predict others. And only here will you learn how your "Plaza" is controlled and operated. Other special Law Enforcement Sensitive information is shared, so don't miss your opportunity.

Who Should Attend: Patrol Officers, Detectives, Agents, Auto theft

Instructors: Your instructors, Paul Chavez and Nick Ramos will be your guides through this intricate and detailed course. Paul Chavez, a retired Deputy Chief of the Albuquerque Police Department, Director of Intelligence at the New Mexico Investigative Support Center, and a graduate of the FBI National Academy has spent many years honing his understanding of Transnational Criminal Organizations, which he will share with you. Nick Ramos, a retired Sergeant and K9 handler from the New Mexico State Police, brings a wealth of experience gained as a Narcotics Agent where he acquired extensive knowledge of the drug underworld before returning to the streets. Nick conducted investigations and interviews from over 300 personal seizures of drugs, money, and weapons of cartel controlled property. Nick Ramos received many awards including New Mexico's 2010 Officer of the Year and is touted as, "a bloodhound for narcotics" by the U.S. Attorney's office in 2011. Nick continues his work as a Deputy for the Bernalillo county Sheriff's Office. He is a guest presenter for several large organizations including HIDTA, INIA, BJA, Sheriff's & Chiefs of Police, CNOA, and CNCA.

Dress Code: Uniform, business casual, or the uniform of the day

Lodging and Meals: Students are responsible for their own hotel and meals. If you are in need of  a hotel, the Radisson Inn, Whittier is a nice hotel that is close and L.E. friendly.
